Inspectorate

The Inspectorate is directly subordinate to the Director General and is structured in departments defined by his order.

The Inspectorate exercises control on the activity of the customs administration as it shall:

  1. make complex, thematic and targeted checks for compliance with the customs legislation;
  2. give to the Agency's Director the findings of the checks made and offer measures for overcoming the malpractice;
  3. follow up for the actions taken to eliminate the weaknesses and offences found as a result of the checks;
  4. perform activities related to detection and fight against corruption with the customs administration.

The Inspectorate shall exercise control:

  1. according to an annual plan, approved by the Agency's Director, offered by the Inspectorate's head;
  2. while fulfilling an order of the Agency's Director  for  emergency checks and specific checks.
