National Revenue Agency (NRA) and the Customs Agency start a day-and-night control along the borders, press center of the National Customs Agency informed. Joint teams of the National Revenue Agency and the Customs Agency began 24-hour oversight at 9 border checkpoints in the country. Checks will be carried out on the borders between Bulgaria and the European Union member states. Since the beginning of 2007 movement of goods between Bulgaria and the EU member states is carried out freely without customs control. This often leads to tax fraud and tax evasions. The joint teams will monitor import of risky goods such as fuel and grain on our territory. Other goods will also be checked up depending on the results. Technologies of checks include direct day-and-night control of incoming and outgoing vehicles transporting hazardous goods. Inspectors will also verify the quantity and value of goods. Employees of the National Revenue Agency will conduct secondary inspections of what happens to the goods which have already entered the country.
