Customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo Customs Checkpoint hampered an attempt of smuggling perfumes and toilet waters, batteries and cell phone's cases. The items were hidden in a car travelling from Turkey to Romania through Bulgaria.
The heavy-freight TIR truck arrived at Kapitan Andreevo in the early hours of November 17. The driver, a Turkish national, presented all the necessary documents, which stated that the shipment contains textile, cooks and automobile spare parts.
A thorough check-up, however, revealed that the vehicle is not loaded with the items stated in the papers.
41 of the boxes were full of 2,625 perfumes and toilet waters, carrying popular brands such as CALVIN KLEIN, ARMANI, GIVENCHY, NINA RICCI and others.
One carton was full of cases (90 units) and batteries (400 pcs) for cell phones.
Driver, 29-year-old Turkish citizen with initials R.K., has been drawn a statement over violation under teh Customs Act.
