4.6kg of heroin, hidden in a rucksack seized in Malko Tarnovo

Customs officers with the anti-drug unit at Customs checkpoint Malko Tarnovo seized 4.6 kilos of heroin, hidden in a rucksack.
Late in the evening on November 22, a bus with Turkish registration, traveling on a regular run from Turkey to Romania, arrives at the checkpoint. In the frames of a thorough check-up on the bus passengers and luggage, customs officers' noticed a tourist rucksack.
After a detailed check-up, customs officers found a flat package, put in the double bottom of the rucksack. The package contained beige powder substance, which reacted on heroin.
The drug haul is of a total of 4,611 kilos, worth more than BGN 500,000.
The owner of the rucksack, a 36-year-old Bulgarian national with initials A.D., has been drawn a statement.
