Inspectors with the Customs in Varna seized 520 liters of ethyl alcohol from a private home in the coastal town of Byala. The check-up was executed late last night at a signal of the Executive Agency on Vine and Wine for illegal sale of alcohol drinks.
During the check-up the inspectors detected a barrel and plastic bottles stored in the basement, containing a liquid smelling like rakia (Bulgarian type of brandy).
The field test reported 16.8% to 56.4% ABV.
A statement under the Excise Duty and Tax Warehouse Act will be drawn over violation of storage and trade of excised goods.
On Monday, authorities found 96 cartons each containing 0.050 grams of tobacco, which lacked the required excise label. 56 of them have been confiscated, while the rest were sent for laboratory analysis.
The minimum fine imposed on such violation runs to BGN 2,000 under the Excise Duty and Tax Warehouse Act.
