Cocaine sewn into underwear, seized at Kalotina crossing

Nearly half a kilo of cocaine were seized at Kalotina border checkpoint in a joint special operation of General Directorate Combating Organized Crime (GDCOC), National Customs Agency (NCA) and General Directorate Border Police (GDBP) aimed against international drug trafficking.
The special team carried out check of a Bulgarian citizen traveling by bus on the route Amsterdam - Brussels - Sofia around 19.00 (18.01.2010).
Customs officers found that under her trousers the woman was wearing specifically adapted underwear on which two packages were sewn.
Later after a test it turned out that the substances in the two packages is cocaine. The total amount of drug was 0.475 kilograms.
This is the first case of seized at the Bulgarian border cocaine since the beginning of this year.
