Skimming device, hidden in toy, seized at Kalotina

2010-04-07
Customs officers at the Kalotina customs checkpoint seized a bank card skimming device in the frames of a check-up on unaccompanied luggage, travelling from Bulgaria to Spain.
The skimming device for bank cards' manipulation was hidden in a package containing a child's toy - a laundry machine.
The case has been referred to the Border Police.
Hiding skimming devices in toys is a common practice. In October 2009, customs officers at Sofia Airport seized two courier's packages of toys, in which they found two bank card readers with micro-camera.
