6,040 kilos of liquid petroleum gas with unpaid excise duty has been seized by customs officers with the Customs Ruse.
At the road fork on the Ruse-Kubrat road, customs officers stopped a freight-vehicle for a check-up. The truck was registered in Sofia and was transporting gas. It was transporting oil gas aimed for the filling stations in the town of Razgrad.
However, truck's driver did not present any documents, proving that the excise duty on the shipment has been paid, which is a violation under the Excise Duty and Tax Warehouse Act and goes along with a fine that is twice the amount of the unpaid excise duty, while the illegal shipment is confiscated to be the benefit of the state.
The unpaid excise on the liquid petroleum gas is estimated at BGN 2053,60.
