Golden, silver jewellery worth BGN 20,000 seized at Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint

343,80 grams of golden and 1492,6 grams of silver jewellery have been seized by customs inspectors at Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint, the National Customs Agency reports.
On Sunday at around 4 p.m., a passenger's bus with Romanian registration arrived at the border checkpoint. The bus was travelling from Turkey to Romania.
In the frames of the check-up on the personal luggage of two of the passengers - both Romanian nationals aged 53 and 62, customs inspectors found polyethylene bags full of items made of yellowish and white metal.
The test made on the field responded to gold and silver.
The smuggled jewellery is worth around BGN 20,000.
The two Romanian nationals have been drawn a statement over violation under the Foreign Exchange Act. The case has been refered to the competent authorities.
