Another truck, smuggling waste, seized in Svilengrad

Svilengrad. Another truck smuggling waste has been detained by customs officers from the town of Svilengrad, close to the Kapitan Petko Voyvoda border checkpoint. This time the waste shipment was aimed for a company in Romania, while the waste consists of polythene bags, nylon and tin-foil.
Authorities seized 21 bales weighting a total of 19,300 kilos.
The documents accompanying the shipment do not qualify the goods as waste, and respectively the documents required for this time of shipment under EU's Regulation EC № 1013/2006 are missing.
The Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water has been alarmed over the case. The Inspectorate ordered the truck to be returned to Greece.
This is the fifth truck transporting waste detained in the region of the Kapitan Petko Voyvoda border checkpoint over the last days.
