Officers with the Customs in the cities of Burgas, Ruse and Plovdiv took part in The Excise Duties special police operation with their expert's opinion in the field excise duties and excise goods. The customs officers were assigned the task to make initial analysis on the excise labels and the high-spirit alcohol seized in the frames of the operation, the National Customs Agency announced.
The customs experts took samples of the detained alcohol and analyzed the excise labels. The samples will undergo further analysis and tests at the special customs laboratory.
"Excise goods analysis is a specific activity, which should be done by experts in order to be efficient. Only the exact work may lead to real results and it is not realistic to expect fast results from the analysis on the excise labels and the chemical content of the excise goods," Deputy Director of the National Customs Agency Antoniy Strandzhev commented.
The Excise Duties police operation is a sequence to the operational actions in March and April, when authorities seized huge amount of illegal alcohol.
