Bulgarian customs officers find fake American Express cheques in courier consignment from Ghana

Customs officers from the anti-drug unit of the customs service at Sofia Airport have seized fake American Express cheques, the Customs Agency announced.
The eight cheques, each of them worth EUR 500, were found in an express courier consignment from Ghana. The receiver was in Bulgaria. According to the papers the consignment contained documents.
The initial test showed that the cheques, which are worth EUR 4,000 in total, are fake.
Ghana and Nigeria are the two African states believed to be centers of the printing houses for fake American dollars and cheques.
