Customs officers seize 33,300 pieces of cigarettes in international trains over the last days

Customs officers at Kalotina have seized 33,300 pieces or some 1,665 boxes of cigarettes on September 24-28. The cigarettes were confiscated from the international trains No 491 and No 293 travelling from Serbia to Bulgaria.
Six of the smuggling cases were detected in No 491 train and one in No 293.
The tobacco products were found in the natural cavities of the ceiling and the windows of the train. In the other two cases customs officers confiscated 18 boxes of cigarettes from the personal handbag of a woman and 6 boxes of cigarettes hidden under the clothes of another woman.
The cigarettes were of the brands Viceroy, LD, Monus Slims, Philip Morris Silver, Eva Slims, Classic, Marilyn Slims, Classic Blue, Parliament Aqua Blu, Imperial Classic, Pall Mall and others. The cigarettes are either without or Serbian excise stamp.
Authorities drew statements over violation against the two women and against five unknown perpetrators.
