Truck transporting illegal cigarettes in plastic profiles detained at Kulata border checkpoint

Customs officers detained a truck transporting illegal cigarettes at the Kulata border checkpoint, the National Customs Agency informs.
The truck was with Greek registration, driver by a man with Greek passport. According to the documents the driver presented, the vehicle was supposed to transport plastic elements (cable channels) from Greece to Romania.
When the truck crossed the checkpoint the team of the Customs Investigation and Intelligence selected it for a thorough check-up.
The x-ray scanning of the vehicle detected that the thickness of the content does not meet the data stated in the documents. The check-up revealed that the original cardboard boxes of the plastic elements are full of cigarettes of the Pearl Slims and Prime brands. The cigarettes lack excise stamps and according to initial calculations there are around 750 standard master-boxes.
