Cigarettes seized last night at Danube Bridge worth about BGN 1.2 million

Cigarettes that were seized last night near Danube Bridge, worth around BGN 1.2 million, BGN 400 000 of which is the value of the excise duty, the National Customs Agency announced. Around 19.30 last night customs mobile teams together with officials of the Ruse Customs Office selected under "risk analysis" method a truck, traveling from Greece through Bulgaria to Romania. The driver presented documents for a load of plastic packaging for cosmetics and labels, divided into 366 boxes. After a thorough check of the truck were found eight pallets, each of which contained 24 master boxes of cigarettes without excise labels and documents. The total amount of the illegal cigarettes was 192 master boxes or 96,000 boxes (1,920 million pieces). The driver is a Romanian citizen with initials N.F.
