Kalotina customs officials seized 422 boxes of smuggled cigarettes within several hours

Customs officials at Kalotina border checkpoint seized 8440 smuggled cigarettes within a few hours in international train and car with Bulgarian license plate, the National Customs Agency reported.
Yesterday afternoon during a check of the international № 491 train Serbia - Bulgaria, customs officers found 71 boxes (1440 cigarettes) cigarettes with Serbian excise labels, from the brands of Viceroy, Classic Slims, Imperial Classic and Parliament Slims. Tobacco products were hidden in the ceiling voids in the second car of the train composition.
Several hours later a car entering Bulgaria with Bulgarian license plate is diverted to a thorough customs inspection. During the inspection were found a total of 350 boxes (7,000 pieces) of cigarettes without excise labels. The cigarettes were hidden in the rear bumper in the front fender of the car and in the handbags of a Bulgarian national.
