The smuggled cigarettes were found in secret compartments of two cars with Bulgarian registration during a thorough customs check. All cigarettes had a ‘duty free' sign.
In the first case customs officers found 6,400 pieces (320 boxes) of King, Victory and American Legend cigarettes hidden in a Renault Espace car.
Other 3,400 pieces (170 boxes) of King, Victory, Ome, Assos, and Eva cigarettes, as well as 2 kilos of cut tobacco divided into packages, were found in another car, driven by a Bulgarian national.
