Customs officials at Lesovo crossing seize contraband of auto parts and cigarettes

Total of 1548 undeclared auto parts and 2200 pieces of cigarettes without excise labels were found by customs inspectors at Lesovo border checkpoint in two attempts for smuggling from Turkey in the last day, the National Customs Agency announced. Auto parts were seized in a customs inspection of a Renault Megane car with Turkish registration. The driver has declared that he doesn't import any goods or currency that to declare. In examining the trunk of the car were found, however, 1548 different parts, reflectors, lamps, automotive belt buckles and more car accessories.
The seized 2,200 pieces / 110 boxes / of contraband cigarettes were found during a joint investigation with officials of the Border Police. The smuggled goods were hidden in secret compartments of a Mercedes car with Bulgarian registration.
