Illegal cigarettes hidden in cement pipes seized at Kulata border checkpoint

Customs officers at Kultata border checkpoint seized illegal cigarettes hidden in cement pipes. Customs officials selected for inspection a truck with Greek license plate driven by a Greek national. According to documentary the truck should be carrying cement pipes with a length of one meter and diameter of two meters from Greece to Bulgaria. After scanning of cargo customs officers noticed that the inside of the pipes is filled with dense material. On physical examination it was found that cement pipes are crammed with cigarettes. Part of cigarettes was in original cardboard boxes. Preliminary estimates indicate that the amount of the transported illegal cigarettes is more than 300 master cases.
