Five cigarette smuggling attempts hampered at Lesovo checkpoint

Five cigarette smuggling attempts have been hampered at the Lesovo customs checkpoint overnight in the frames of joint actions of the customs and border police officers.
Some 18,220 pieces (911 boxes) of cigarettes without excise stamps have been found and confiscated. The cigarettes are of the brands Ome, Eva Slims, Karelia, Victory, Assos and others.
The cigarettes were found in secret compartments in cars with Bulgarian registration. Five statements of violation under the Customs Act have been drawn.
Five of the offenders are Bulgarian nationals from the town of Yambol.
