Customs officers seize about 27kg of heroin at Kapitan Andreevo crossing

Customs inspectors at Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint seized huge amount of drug during a check of personal luggage in a car, press centre of the National Customs Agency announced. Through the "analysis of the risk" method the customs inspectors selected a car entering from Turkey for a check. The car was with Bulgarian license plate, and there was a four-member family in it. The family is from the town of Svilengrad. They are a man at the age of 34, a woman at the age of 32 and their two children at 4 and 8 years. During a detailed check under the baggage - washing detergents, toilet paper, oranges, three cans of olives the customs officers found total of 52 packages wrapped in black scotch. The packs contained powder substance. During a field test the substance responded positively to heroin test. According to early data the total amount of the drug is 26,950 kg.
