Large amount of illegal alcohol seized in Southwest Bulgaria

Large amount of alcohol without the required excise documents has been found in the frames of a special operation of a mobile customs group with the Central Directorate of the National Customs Agency and officers with Customs - Southwest, in cooperation with District Interior Ministry Directorate-Botevgrad and Regional Prosecution Office - Sandanski.
The illegal alcohol was found in a former farm building in the village of Harsovo, municipality of Sandanski (Southwest Bulgaria). In one of the rooms there was a registered small site for alcohol production (a distiller).
In the frames of the check, customs officers found a total of 22,134 litres of alcohol products, including 154 litres of rakia with different amounts of alcohol proof, divided into plastic bottles with different capacity; as well as around 22 tons of wine and wine-material. Part of the wine (3.78 tons) is divided into glass and plastic bottles with different capacity.
