Some 5,000 litres of alcohol drinks have been seized by customs officers at Danube Bridge.
Customs authorities stopped for a check a freight truck with Bulgarian registration at the Danube Bridge-Ruse border checkpoint. The truck was transporting goods from Romania to Cyprus.
The thorough customs check revealed that apart from food products the vehicle is also transporting alcohol drinks.
Authorities have confiscated 3.792 litres of beer, 1,000 litres of wine and 1892 litres of other alcohol, which lacked paid excise.
For yet another time customs officers proved that the ‘Siberian cold spell' and the holiday spirit are not an obstacle for strict and uncompromising execution of their duties.
