Almost 2 master boxes of cigarettes seized at Kalotina in 4 days

Some 993 boxes of illegal cigarettes have been found and confiscated from two international trains and a car at the Kalotina checkpoint over the past four days.
In the frames of 5 checks on international trains No 491 and No 293, travelling from Serbia to Bulgaria, customs officers found and confiscated a total of 883 boxes of smuggled cigarettes hidden in the hollow spaces of trains' ceilings, the WCs, behind the seats and in plastic beer bottles.
The cigarettes are of the brands Monus, Eva Slims, LD, Classic Imperial, Victory, Viceroy, Winston, Code Blue and others, all with Serbian excise stamp.
On January 20, customs authorities checked an Opel Astra car and after dismantling one of the seats they found 110 Eva Slims cigarettes.
