700 master-cases contraband cigarettes hidden among oranges seized at Ilinden checkpoint

Around 700 master-cases of contraband cigarettes, hidden among a shipment of oranges, have been seized overnight at the Ilinden border checkpoint, press office of National Customs Agency announced for FOCUS News Agency.
At around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, a freight truck arrived at the Ilinden border checkpoint. The vehicle was with Bulgarian registration and had a refrigerator trailer. It was driven by a Greek national, aged 43. The truck was travelling from the Greek city of Kavala to Bulgaria's second biggest city of Plovdiv. The truck was selected for additional check. Authorities found around 700 master-cases of contraband cigarettes during an overall customs check. Investigation and examination of the truck continues. The driver is now under arrest. Work on the case continues.
