Bulgaria's Customs Agency has received an award for its remarkable results in joint drug trafficking investigation in the past year. The award is handed out by the Bucharest-based Regional Center for Combating Transborder Crime of the Southeast European Cooperative Initiative.
The award is recognition of the joint Bulgarian-Romanian operation Husky, which seized a significant amount of heroin and tens of thousands of euros. The operation identified the drug trafficker and detained members of two organized criminal gangs trafficking heroin from Turkey via Bulgaria and Romania into Western Europe.
