Cigarettes, hidden in freezer, baby basket seized in Sofia

Some 3,280 boxes of cigarettes have been seized by customs officer with Sofia Customs in the frames of four separate checks over the past 24 hours.
The bigger part of the cigarettes wes found at an apartment in Sofia. They were hidden in a laundry-basket under dirty underwear, in the freezer, as well as in the basket of a four-month baby.
Customs authorities also check a site in the Zhenski Pazar market in Sofia - a catering establishment with rooms for staying, used mainly by people of Roma origin. In the kitchen of the restaurant customs officers found 630 boxes of cigarettes without excise stamp.
Customs authorities also checked two sites in the Iliyantsi quarter. They found 447 boxes of cigarettes in one of them. Other 2,158 boxes of cigarettes were found in apartment.
The cigarettes are of the brands Eva and Gold Maund - without excise stamp, LD with Macedonian excise stamp and Lucky Strike.
