Smuggled cigarettes seized from four cars at Lesovo checkpoint

Some 11,360 pieces (568 boxes) of smuggled cigarettes have been found in secret compartments in four cars passing through the Lesovo customs checkpoint in the past 24 hours. All the vehicles were coming from Turkey.
4,960 pieces (248 boxes) of smuggled cigarettes were found in a BMW car with foreign registration, driven by 26-year-old Bulgarian citizen from Yambol.
Other 5,060 pieces (253 boxes) of smuggled cigarettes were found hidden in the back fenders and back seats of three cars registered in the Bulgarian town of Yambol, while 1,340 pieces (67 boxes) were found attached to the body of a 69-year-old woman from Yambol, which was travelling in one of the vehicles.
The confiscated cigarettes are of the brands „Karelia", „King Red", „Assos", „L&M", „Muratti".
