1,183 boxes of cigarettes aimed for Germany seized by customs in Lom

Some 1,183 boxes of cigarettes without Bulgarian excise label have been seized by customs mobile group with the Customs Lom during a check in the region of the Vidin ferry in the town of Vidin.
The cigarettes were hidden under the upholstery of car's floor and the doors of the mini-bus with Bulgarian registration.
The driver, a Bulgarian from the town of Kostinbrod, said that he was given the cigarettes by another person and then hid them in the car. The cigarettes were supposed to be delivered to Germany to another Bulgarian national.
Other 189 boxes of illegal cigarettes of different brands were found during a check on the international passenger's train entering the territory of the country from Serbia. The cigarettes were hidden in the natural cavities of the roof of the compartment.
