Bulgaria’s Revenue Agency branch in Burgas sells 13 kg of contraband gold worth about BGN 700,000


The branch of the National Revenue Agency in the seaside city of Burgas has sold 12,831 kg of gold seized by customs agency branches, it announced.
The sum that goes to the national budget runs to BGN 672,009, which is BGN 91,000 more than the originally planned. There was keen interest in the tender, it specified.
42 bids were opened and there were two buyers in total. Only traders with a certificate to process, trade in and sell precious metals can participate in tenders.
1 gram of 14-carat gold cost BGN 52,23 and 1 gram of 22-carat gold - BGN 73,14. The starting sale price of the precious metal was determined by the stock market price.
Since the beginning of the year, the branch of the National Revenue Agency in the city of Burgas has sold 41 kg of gold and 11 kg of silver at tenders, sending more than BGN 2,3 million into the national budget.
