648 grams of high-quality golden jewellery seized at Kapitan Andreevo

Yesterday customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo custosm checkpoint found and confiscated golden jewelry and coins at the total wight of 648.05 grams. The items were transported by a passenger (woman) in an international bus travelling from Turkey to Bulgaria. The 56-year-old woman did not declare the golden items. During a check on her suitcase the customs officers found the undeclared items in the bottom, hidden in plastic and cloth bags. The golden items were divided into 11 boxes. There were golden bracelets, necklaces and rings, as well as different types of golden coins and traditional wedding presents.
The woman said the items belong to her and she carries them because she was afraid they would be stolen while she is travelling.
An analysis reported that the items are made of 22-carat cold. The total value of the items is BGN 48,000.
