Customs officers at Malko Tarnovo checkpoint seize 70litres of poisonous rakia from car

Customs inspectors at the Malko Tarnovo customs checkpoint seized a car smuggling rakia and tens of kilos of walnuts.
Customs authorities stopped for a check a car registered in the Bulgarian city of Stara Zagora. It was travelling from Bulgaria to Turkey during the night. The driver and his companion said they had nothing to declare before the customs.
However, during the check authorities found around 70 kilos of walnuts in several bags put under car's hood and in the luggage booth. The car was sent for further check at the customs warehouse, where the customs inspectors found out that the car's tank is full of 70 litres of liquid, which was ascertained as smuggled rakia. The car had also additional gas tank.
Authorities drew a statement for customs violation to a 28-year-old Bulgarian citizen from Stara Zagora.
"This is the latest example of crazy invention of the smugglers, because when the rakia is mixed with the fuel in the tank, it becomes very dangerous of people's health," customs inspectors commented.
