Nearly 15kg of amphetamine pills seized at Malko Tarnovo customs checkpoint

Customs officers at the Malko Tarnovo customs checkpoint seized 11 packages with a total of 14.696 kilos of amphetamine pills from a car with Dutch registration.
The car was travelling from Bulgaria to Turkey. It arrived at the customs checkpoint on March 10, 2012.
The driver is a foreign national with double citizenship - Turkish and Dutch. The car was selected for a thorough check under the risk analysis method.
During the check authorities found 11 packages wrapped in scotch tape, which were hidden in secret compartments under the spare tyre and under the front seat.
During the weekend customs officers at the Kalotina checkpoint also foiled an illegal import of 30,000 capsules containing plant substances aimed for weight loss. The smuggled pills had a FX 15 logo. They were found in a double floor of a car with Bulgarian registration.
