Customs officers at Kalotina detain woman smuggler

Customs officers at Kalotina checkpoint seized some 3,670 boxes of smuggled cigarettes in the floor of a car travelling from Serbia to Bulgaria, driven by a 36-year-old woman from the town of Dragoman.
During the visual check the customs officers detected there was some suspicious difference in the floor cover in the internal and in the external part of the compartment and made an x-ray examination of the vehicle, which revealed that the hallow space under the car floor was full of cigarettes. The thorough check revealed that there were a total of 3,670 boxes of cigarettes with a duty-free sign or with Kosovar excise stamp hidden under the floor. The cigarettes were of two popular Bulgarian brands, popular among women smokers.
The driver was drawn a statement over administrative violation.
