Customs officers seize more than half a ton of rakia

On October 15 and 16 customs officers from Svishtov carried out checks on illegal production of ethyl alcohol at illegal distilling sites.
The sites were selected on the basis of the risk analysis method and signals from external sources. As a result of the checks, authorities detected and busted four illegal distillers, which were illegally producing ethyl alcohol.
The distillers were built at farm buildings in private properties in the towns of Belene, Troyan, Teteven and the village of Malchika. Customs officers found and confiscated a total of 533 litres of rakia (Bulgarian type of brandy).
