Bulgarian customs seize more than half a kilo of silver from woman’s underwear

Customs officers in the town of Svilengrad seized more than half a kilo of silver jewellery, hidden in a woman's underwear on Tuesday, October 16.
In the frames of a check on a passenger's train, travelling on a regular run from Istanbul to Bucharest, the customs inspectors selected a young Romanian woman for a thorough check and found some 45 pairs of earrings, 36 medallions, 29 rings, 5 chains and 14 bracelets, all made of silver, as well as silver material, which the analysis proved to be of 925 fineness. The silver items were hidden in woman's underwear.
The seized items are worth around BGN 3,000.
The silver jewellery is confiscated to the benefit of the state, while the smuggler will be fined BGN 1,000 to BGN 3,000.
