Customs officers foil two new cases of illegal sale of 40 tons of coal

Customs officers with the Customs Bureau Kardzhali foiled two new cases of illegal sale of 40 tons of coal. Customs inspector in the town of Kardzhali, in cooperation with the officers with the district police directorate, carried out a check in the village of Zhaltusha, municipality of Ardino, where they detected a truck loaded with 10 tons of briquettes, which were being illegally sold in violation of the Excise Duty and Tax Warehouse Act.
The owner did not present any documents proving the payment of excise duty before the customs inspectors.
The check continued at a farm in the nearby village of Diamandovo, where authorities found other 10 tons of briquettes and 20 tons of coal, owned by the driver of the freight truck.
The violator was drawn a statement under the Excise Duty and Tax Warehouse Act. The fine imposed for such crime is twice the price of the excise but no less than BGN 1,000.
