Bulgarian-Turkish meeting over difficulties concerning traffic through Kapitan Andreevo crossing

On 26 September 2012 a meeting was held between the leaders of the Bulgarian and Turkish side of Svilengrad Customs Office and Thrace Customs Office which discussed problem formed queues of trucks on the Bulgarian and Turkish territory on 21 September, trying to pass through Kapitan Andreevo and Kapikule border checkpoints.
At the meeting it became clear that the difficulties are caused by nine-hour failure of information systems at Kapkule checkpoint on September 21, and at present there is a problem with the staff for the routes for trucks at the checkpoint on the Turkish side. The Customs Headquarters in Ankara, Turkey is informed on the issue.
