Customs officers at Sofia Airport seize record shipment of precursors for 35 million doses of amphetamines

Customs officers at Sofia Airport seized a record shipment of 550 kilograms of precursors for 35 million doses of amphetamines, the press office of the National Customs Agency (NCA) announced. At a special operation against the trafficking of amphetamines, customs department of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation with the Drugs Department seized 550 kilograms of precursors of Alpha Acetylphenyl Acetonitrile / APAAN /. 550 kg of the seized precursors are needed to produce 3.5 million doses of amphetamines, from which criminals could gain EUR 70 million.
Cargo shipment from China arrived at Sofia airport and was intended for the Bulgarian company. This is the third such shipment arrived from China for the same destination as the substance is not yet included on the list with prohibited substances.
