2,201 litres illegal alcohol detained by customs officials and police in Golden Sands resort

2,201 litres of illegal alcohol was seized in the sea resort of Golden Sands by employees of Customs Intelligence and Investigation with Varna Customs Office and Economic Police in a joint special operation.
The alcohol was found during inspection of a private home in the vicinity of Golden Sands. In the garage to the house inspectors found 527 pieces of packaging boxes, factory sealed and labelled 'Chardonnay', 'Cabernet' etc. In fact, it appears that the liquid is different alcohol with approximately 40% vol. Total of 101 bottles with a capacity of 5 litres containing alcohol with approximately 38% vol. were detained. 183 bottles of whiskey probably stamped with fake excise labels. The total amount of alcohol seized is 2,201 litres.
