Ruse customs officer detain Romanian with nearly 100,000 contraband cigarettes


Customs officers in the northern Bulgarian city of Ruse have detained a Romanian with nearly 100,000 contraband cigarettes.
The cigarettes without excise stamps were found at Danube Bridge border checkpoint in a Romanian bus. They were stuffed in black polyethylene sacks and distributed in different places in the bus. Some of the contraband cigarettes were in the toilet of the bus and others - behind the suitcases of the passengers. The cigarettes were transported by a Romanian citizen traveling in the bus. The Romanian is caught with contraband cigarettes in Bulgaria for a second time. He already has a suspended sentence for his first offence. Proceedings were opened for the second case.
