New scanner at Burgas Port customs checkpoint guarantees 100% transparency on control

The new stationary scanner at the Burgas Seaport customs checkpoint was officially installed today at the presence of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov and Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delyan Dobrev.
The functions and operations of the new modern facility for check on ship cargo containers was presented by National Customs Agency Director Vanyo Tanov and Customs Burgas head Valeri Stefanov.
The check on one container with the new scanner takes around 3 minutes. Burgas Seaport processes around 22,000 containers annually, with a tendency for increase.
The new scanner will secure 100% customs control on all entering and exiting shipments and containers.
"The new scanner guarantees 100% transparency on the control," PM Borisov remarked and greeted NCA Director Vanyo Tanov.
"These are good systems, which eliminate the human factor and terms such as patronising and umbrellas for the smuggling, or anything else, will become irrelevant," Borisov said.
