Silver jewellery worth BGN 11,865 hidden in detergent seized at Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint

Customs officers from Svilengrad seized nearly two kilos of silver jewellery found in the luggage of a passenger crossing the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint, the press office of the National Customs Agency announced.
At the request of Border Police, the customs authorities made a thorough check on a bus travelling on a regular run from Turkey to Romania, passing through Bulgaria.
While searching the luggage of one of the passengers, customs officers found 10 plastic bags full of silver jewellery. The bags were hidden in a big package of Ariel detergent,
The confiscated jewellery weights a total of 1.977 centigrams and is worth BGN 11,865.
Customs officers imposed a fine on a Romanian national, aged 45.
