Bulgarian district customs office seizes 12 master-cases of smuggled cigarettes

Officers with Customs - Ruse detained a foreign national trying to smuggle 12 master-cases of cigarettes (Ashima), produced in Turkey. It is believed that the cigarettes were illegally imported from Turkey, said Customs-Ruse head Veslein Georgiev..
The foreign man was put under 72-hour arrest and will be tried under an accelerated procedure.
Veslein Georgiev commented further that in most cases the smuggled cigarettes were of unknown origin, mixtures of different brands, as the different elements (filters, tobacco, and etc.) were assembled at different places and these cigarettes may cause serious harm to people's health.
