Pensioner turns his home into a depot for illegal cigarettes

Mobile group of Ruse Customs Office has revealed private home converted into a depot for distribution of illegal cigarettes. Customs inspectors have monitored a house in a distant neighborhood in the town of Ruse and noticed that people come to buy cigarettes from the occupant of the house. When carried out inspection of the place, the customs staff encountered 3 bags of smuggled cigarettes hidden under a bed in the living room. They found 213 boxes of the brands "Turquvise", "Palladium" and "Raquel slims". The 70-year-old occupant of the property admitted that he began with the illegal trade a time ago in order to make additional income.
In another case 40-year-old Turkish citizen E.P. will also face court on cigarette smuggling charges. The truck with Turkish license plate which he drove was stopped at Danube Bridge customs office for a check on Monday afternoon. In a cavity under the bed in the driver's cab the customs inspectors found 123 boxes of cigarettes of brands "LM Red" and "Davidoff Gold" without excise labels that read "Duty Free".
