Bulgaria customs seize heroin hidden in truck’s battery

Bulgarian customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint seized a shipment of heroin in a Bulgarian truck with a semi-trailer.
The truck was driven by a Bulgarian citizen, who was travelling from Turkey to Bulgaria. The vehicle was transporting cement. When the truck arrived at the checkpoint authorities selected it for an x-ray check, which detected suspicious thickness in strange places. After a thorough check the customs officers found 17 packages full of powder substance hidden in one of the vehicles batteries. The drug test made on the field reacted to heroin. The total amount of the drug haul is 5.780 kilos, worth BGN 280,000.
