Bulgaria customs seize undeclared €407,000 at Sofia Airport

Inspectors with the drugs unit of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department at the Sofia Airport busted some EUR 407,000 in undeclared currency after a check on the personal luggage of a Venezuelan national, who arrived in the Bulgarian capital city Sofia from Caracas, with a flight passing through Madrid.
The money was divided into wads of EUR 10 and EUR 100 bills and was not declared before the authorities.
The violator was drawn a statement over violation of the Currency Act and the EC Regulation 1889/2005.
The case has been referred to Sofia Prosecutor's Office.
