Ruse customs bust 500 boxes of cigarettes in car at Danube Bridge

Customs officers at the Danube Brudge checkpoint busted nearly 500 boxes of cigarettes hidden in the spare tyre of a car on Tuesday.
The cigarettes were of the brands LM And Parliament and without Bulgarian excise stamp.
The customs inspectors, in cooperation with the officers of the regional police departments, busted two cases in which the cigarettes smuggling has turned into a regular business.
Despite being already convicted and sentenced the illicit cigarettes traders continued doing their business.
In one of the cases authorities found nearly 500 boxes of cigarettes (Winston) at the home of a recidivist smuggler. In another other, officers busted 770 boxes of cigarettes in a car parked in front of an entertainment establishment in the town of Rusе.
Some 42,400 pieces of illegal cigarettes have been seized since the turn of the month by the officers with Customs Ruse. Six pre-court proceedings have been initiated on the cases. The 2,120 boxes of cigarettes were of the brands Diva, Don, My Way, Raquel, Ruby, Winston, LM and Parliament, worth BGN 15,900/
