Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo bust BGN 1.4mln heroin haul

Bulgarian customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint seized some 11.480 kilos of heroin in a check on a passenger's car with Bulgarian registration.
The vehicle was with Bulgarian registration and driven by a Bulgarian national, travelling from Turkey to Bulgaria.
The customs officers selected the car for an overall check in which they found 20 packages full of powder substance. The packages were wrapped in wax and were put in hidden compartments inside the car. The drug test made on the field responded to heroin. The price of the busted heroin haul is estimated at more than BGN 1.4 million.
The vehicle and its driver were detained. A pre-court proceeding was initiated on the case.
