Golden jewelleries for nearly BGN 200 000 hidden in a special prepared concealment found at the BCP Kapitan Andreevo



Golden jewelleries worth nearly BGN 200 000  hidden in a  special prepared concealment  in a bus  found out customs officers at  Kapitan Andreevo. The bus with Turkish registration traveled from Turkey to Serbia. Passengers did not declare any goods precious metals and currency. Based out on the method „risk analysis" customs officers on duty selected the bus for X-ray control.  The inspection showed   that in the luggage compartment in a special prepared concealment there is a real golden treasure.

Customs officers found out the packages of  jewelries wrapped in clear tape with a total weight of  3.834 kg. According to the expert estimation jewelries are of 14 carat gold worth BGN 191 745. The total number  of the jewelries consists of  392 golden  rings, 253 pairs of golden  earrings, 75 pieces of golden bracelets, 23 chains and 60 golden necklaces.

Two fines were imposed to the driver of  the bus for breaking the Foreign Exchange Law and for the special  prepared concealment found in the bus. The jewelleries were confiscated from the customs authorities. The case was given to the investigation officers from the Customs House of  Svilengrad.
